In my capacity as IdeaZone.ca President, I was interviewed on the CFAX Online radio show yesterday. It was a great show.

Twitter was the topic of the day, and given the audience, I spoke mostly about using Twitter effectively as a communications tool.

Here is the edited version of the interview:

Radio Interview – May 2, 2009 from Paul Holmes on Vimeo.

Of course the topic of Twitter, and Social Media more broadly is becoming more and more important, especially when discussed in the context of a broader web strategy.

How is your organization using social media? Is it effective? Is it integrated with your website effectively?

My colleague Catherine Novak and I will be presenting a seminar at the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce entitled Effective Social Media for your Small Business. At this seminar, we will be delving into these topics in greater detail.

This is such an exciting, emerging area of technology. I hope you will be able to join us.

I miss my days in radio – but my days in web design aren’t bad either (and I’m still just as busy with my web venture as a web designer – and I’ve been wanting to branch off and start my business for 10 years now). I thought it was ironic that you started your interview on your phone (you working away while they started talking)… Thanks for the interview… I’ve still yet to harness the power of social media yet. I’ve been avoiding Twitter because I’m worried I’ll be addicted!
